Training Progress & Kidney status!

Well it’s nearly a year post transplant now and honestly I cannot believe the change 1 year can make!! I will post photo’s again on 1 year post transplant… OK first things first… Regarding how the kidney is doing…

Well my creatinine level have leveled out and have been very constant the last couple of weeks, I am still going to Cape Town in the next week or two for a check up and a scan but the doctor said there is no need to do a live kidney biopsy! Yeah!! My levels are still higher than were it should be BUT it’s most likely because I have gained over 14 kg now since the transplant!!!!! The change is mind blowing!! I look at some of the photo’s from last year in the hospital and I really cannot believe it myself!
Now what have I been doing regarding training… dieting… and everything else to gain all this weight! Ok my diet – I eat 6 meals a day, I don’t eat tons of protein at all because of the kidney transplant but below is roughly what I eat every day. Keep in mind that my metabolism is crazy fast and my bodyfat stays at 8% or under!!
I train every morning at 5h30am (EVERY day 6 days a week)
7h00am – I make a shake with the following ingredients: –
2 whole eggs
300ml full cream milk
70 grams FutureLife
Vanilla essence
30 grams sugar
1 frozen banana
5 grams L-Glutamine
10h30am
170 grams white rice
100 grams of Roast chicken
Mushroom sauce
13h00pm
60 grams USN Muscle Fuel STS (23 grams protein)
15h00pm
170 grams white rice
100 grams of Roast chicken
Mushroom sauce
19h00pm
Agg anything I can put in the oven (fish cakes, roast chicken or whatever)
Some rice, potatoes or chips… ha ha (NO VEGGIES!!)
20h30pm
2 whole eggs
300ml full cream milk
70 grams FutureLife
Vanilla essence
30 grams sugar
1 frozen banana
5 grams L-Glutamine
I go to bed EVERY night before 9pm!! Just because I am dead by then!! I never skip a meal and ALWAYS eat at the same time! Food is fuel & fuel is growth!!
OK Training!! as everyone should know by now – I am training with Louis Bessinger  – (http://bessinger.co.za) go check out his page! I have been helping him since 2010 but could not train with him because of kidney failure, after the transplant I still had to train alone to get myself ready to train with him, when I train with someone I need to kill them and not be the one that slows down the workout, so it took me 7 month to gain enough training intensity be able to step up a gear! From January we have joined forces! The goal is to make him the youngest Professional bodybuilder from South Africa!!!
We train 6 day’s a week Monday – Chest, Tuesday – Back, Wednesday – Shoulders, Thursday – Biceps, Friday – Triceps and Saturday the dreaded LEGS!! I cannot remember when last I have not been sore!! I need to push Louis harder and harder every day and for me to do that I have to push myself! Which is great! Louis has never been this sore in all his life and throwing up every leg workout.. but he is packing on size VERY fast!! But so am I!!! My weight is now just over 86kg, I am very very lean and my strength is still going up every week! Kidney failure was the worst thing that have ever happened to me BUT it has made me appreciate everything in life so much more – I might be crazy but being sore again from training feels good! Being able to push myself in the gym as hard as I want to feels great, being healthy and being so busy in the weekends that I cannot wait for Monday to come so that I can go back to work is crazy but amazing!! What a change a year can make a total turn around a total transformation – All thanx to God! My amazing wife!!! and my new hero – my Mom who gave me the kidney!!
Every body out there should know that if I can come back from kidney failure and transform my life in under a year!! ANYONE can!!! Stop making excuses, Stop complaining, Stop being lazy, Stop taking the easy way out!! Stop Stop Stop Stop!!!! And Start taking control of your life! Start getting up earlier, Start eating NOT because it’s nice, but to fuel your machine (your body), Start training (whatever it is), Start setting goals and not small ones – make big goals!! Start Start Start NOW!!! Change your LIFE!!
But ALWAYS remember the following!!!
“NEVER give Up, NEVER give In!”
